Our Story
Set along the winding curve of Route 9W in Palisades, New York, The 9W Market is a seasonal café, bakery, and local gathering place rooted in the rhythms of the Hudson Valley. We serve thoughtful, made-from-scratch food that reflects what’s fresh, local, and in season—without pretense.
But more than a place to eat, The 9W Market was created as a place to gather. Its walls have worn many identities over the years: a food market, a hot dog stand, a motorcycle dealership, a movie set, a biker hangout. Yet at its core, the Market has always drawn people in—for a bite, a conversation, a sense of connection.
In spirit, The 9W Market is perhaps best understood as a modern-day agora: the public square of ancient Greece, where all people—from philosophers to merchants—came together to exchange ideas, stories, and goods. Today, the Market carries that same democratic energy. It has become a meeting place for Palisades: a shared table, an informal salon, an oasis of warmth in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
Whether you’re here for a quiet coffee, a fresh-baked croissant, or a full afternoon of conversation under the trees, you’re in good company.
